Adda with Chua Beng Huat (National University of Singapore)

Inter-Asia Cultural Studies: The Research Cluster Model. Adda/Salon with Chua Beng Huat (National University of Singapore) in conversation with Tejaswini Niranjana and Samita Sen (Jadavpur University)

Adda with Chua Beng Huat, founding co-editor of the Inter-Asia Cultural Studies journal, in conversation with Samita Sen (Jadavpur University) and Tejaswini Niranjana (Lingnan University).
The adda focusses on the endeavour to create IACS research clusters, pioneered by Prof. Chua at the National University of Singapore, primarily through the Asia Research Institute. One well-known cluster of this kind brought out several publications on East Asian pop culture. After initial comments by Prof. Chua on the challenges encountered in creating the research clusters, the discussants will pose several questions. The concluding part of the adda will present speculations about the future potential of cross-country and cross-location research clusters.
