Girija K.P.
Girija is presently foing her PhD on the topic of 'Sites of Knowledge: Situating Select Indigenous Knowledge Systems and Modern Education', under the supervision of Dr. Tejaswini Niranjana. The project attempts to understand an indigenous knowledge system, the ethics and logic under which such systems work and their notion of knowledge, skill and education. The selected indigenous knowledge systems are kalari and vishavaidyam in Kerala.
Girija has participated in several conferences are workshops including 'Rethinking Culture and Development: Feminist Crossings' conducted by School of Women’s Studies, Jadavpur University, 2009, 'Education, State and Globalization: Issues and Challenges' – National Seminar conducted by the department of Sociology, University of Hyderabad, 2010. She took part in the fifth Summer School on Philosophy for the Social Sciences and Humanities. Manipal Centre for Philosophy and Humanities, Manipal University, July 2010, and worked as a consultant for the Pathways programme, on Social Justice in 2011
