Centre for the Study of Culture and Society, Bangalore and National Gallery of Modern Art, Bengaluru will hold an open consultation on BANGALORE AS A CREATIVE CITY: Towards Policy Recommendations on Thursday 29th September, 2011 (10.30 am to 7.00 pm) at the National Gallery of Modern Art, Bengaluru.
For the first time artists and cultural practitioners, culture space managers, representatives of government departments and private companies, and experts on urban planning and cultural policy will come together to examine the space inhabited by art and culture and the role it plays in our urban environment.
The platform envisages a central place for arts and culture in urban planning that has till now predominantly focused on infrastructure. It will result in a set of policy recommendations for cultural spaces that will help fashion Bangalore into a Creative City.
