Regional Language Resources

This intervention seeks to bridge the disparity between the medium of instruction and students' linguistic environment by producing critical academic resources in regional languages; curricular integration of regional language resources; and support for new research on language issues in India. 

Some of the key partner institutions in 2007 – 11 were Institute for Social and Economic Research on Development and Democracy, Delhi; Kannada University, Hampi; Centre for Applied Linguistics and Translation Studies, University of Hyderabad; Samaj Prabodhan Patrika, Belgaum;Centre for the Study of Local Cultures, Kuvempu University,Shimoga and Centre for Development Studies, Thiruvananthapuram.

 

Work in this area will now be anchored at the Tata Institute of Social Sciences (Mumbai).
